The Leap Motion Controller is an optical hand-tracking module that captures the movement of users' hands and fingers, allowing them to interact naturally with digital content. It is small, fast, and accurate, and can be used for productivity applications with Windows-computers, integrated into hardware-oplossingen or enterprise-level displays, or connected to virtual/augmented reality-headsets for AR/VR/XR-prototyping, research, and development. The controller can track hands within an interactive 3D-zone extending up to 60 cm or more, and extending from the device in a 120 x 150° field of view.

The Leap Motion software can distinguish and track 27 different hand elements, including bones and joints, even when they are obscured by other parts of the hand.
