The Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition offers the highest available resolution in the current XR-markt, with an impressive 3840 x 3744 pixels and a density of 51 pixels per degree (PPD).
The Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition features 51 PPD passthrough cameras with autofocus. This is higher than the passthrough cameras of the regular Varjo XR-4.
The Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition is equipped with advanced eye-tracking, allowing it to accurately track eye movements, significantly enhancing the interactive experience.
In previous Varjo models (VR-3, XR-3), a subscription to Varjo Base was required to use the headset. However, with the Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition, this is no longer necessary. This headset can be used and purchased without a subscription.
The Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition requires a wired connection, meaning users are always physically connected to a PC via a cable. It is not possible to use the headset wirelessly.
For optimal performance of the Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition, a powerful PC is required, preferably with an RTX 4070 graphics card or an even more powerful configuration.
Note: to sun damage prevent, it is essential to ensure that the lenses of the headset are not directly exposed to sunlight.

The main difference between the Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition and the standard Varjo XR-4 lies in the fact that the Focal Edition is equipped with a 51 PPD passthrough-camera with autofocus. This is a higher resolution than the regular Varjo XR-4, which has a 33 PPD passthrough-camera (without autofocus).

A standout feature of the Varjo XR-4 Focal Edition is the presence of an advanced 300 kpix LiDAR-camera, combined with 200Hz eye-tracking. This combination enables highly accurate and smooth eye-tracking. Additionally, the headset uses inside-out tracking, meaning no external tracking sensors are needed in the environment.
