XGRIDS PortalCam Standard Kit for photorealistic 3D capture

The XGRIDS PortalCam Standard Kit is a compact and mobile solution for quickly digitising spaces, buildings and other locations. The PortalCam combines LiDAR with four integrated 12 MP cameras and captures both the geometry and visual characteristics of an environment as you move through it.

The captured data is processed with XGRIDS Lixel CyberColor Studio (LCC Studio) into photorealistic 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) models. This makes the PortalCam suitable for, among other things, digital twins, virtual tours, real estate, architecture, construction, heritage, film production, virtual production and AR and VR applications.

LiDAR and four cameras in one compact scanner

The integrated LiDAR sensor registers up to 856,000 points per second. The range is up to 30 meters at surfaces with 10% reflection and can increase to 60 meters at 90% reflection.

For visual registration, the PortalCam has two fisheye cameras and two front cameras. This combines the LiDAR geometry with detailed camera images for a true-to-life reconstruction of the original location.

From location to photorealistic 3D model

While scanning, you simply move through the environment as the PortalCam continuously collects LiDAR and camera data. There is no need for separate static scan positions or external tracking cameras. This allows even larger spaces and locations to be efficiently captured.

In LCC Studio, the collected data is converted into an interactive 3DGS environment. Compared to a traditional point cloud or mesh, the emphasis is strongly on a photorealistic representation of colours, materials, lighting and complex objects.

Includes 1 year of LCC Studio Basic

The XGRIDS PortalCam Standard Kit comes with a one-year license for LCC Studio Basic. This provides you with the most important functions for processing and using regular PortalCam projects.
